In order to ensure the service customization for the user, the GoLogin browser does not have default proxy setups, allowing one to enter all the necessary specifications on one’s own. The multi proxy feature available provides the opportunity of setting different addresses at once, and support of third-party apps eases the process of switching to another browser.
Note. Out of different types of proxy servers, the GoLogin browser works best with HTTP, Socks 4 and Socks 5 IPs.
How to Work With Ip Authenticated Proxies
When getting started with the initial setup, all the required data should be ready for typing in. If one does not have one of the following points, then they should ask the proxy provider for:
Proxy connection type – whether it is HTTP, Socks 5 or Socks 4;
IP address or host for available proxy;
IP port proxy has.
Note. The current IP address one owns is shown in the section’s dashboard.
With every detail requested ready, it is time to set up the proxy from the profile’s settings.
Firstly, click on the “Create new” option, going to the “Proxy” tab – this should be the second option in a row.
Select the type of connection from the listed HTTP, Socks 4 or Socks 5.
Enter the information for “Proxy Host and Port” fiend only. For the convenience purpose, the format should be like “IP:port” or “host:port”, activating the feature of automatic fill-in.
Then choose the option “Check Proxy”, launching HTTP or Socks IP.
If the “Connection test passed” message is shown, then everything was entered and retracted correctly, including timezone, geolocation, WebRTC settings.
If one sees “Connection test failed” notification, then GoLogin has detected an error in the server, because of which the user should proceed to this page.
After the successful setup, save the profile settings and click “Start” for launching the HTTP/Socks proxy.
Setting Up the Password-authenticated Proxy
If the whole team works with the one selected proxy connection, or the user has to perform an account transfer, then the password-authenticated server can protect one from outer influence.
When getting started with the initial setup, all the required data should be ready for typing in. If one does not have one of the following points, then they should ask the proxy provider for:
Proxy connection type – whether it is HTTP, Socks 5 or Socks 4;
IP address or host for available proxy;
IP port proxy has;
Username and password for the proxy authentication.
Once everything is ready, the user can proceed to the next steps.
Same as in the previous step, go to the “Proxy” tab in the new profile to be set up.
Select the type of connection: HTTP, Socks 4 or Socks 5.
Fill in the information about “Proxy Host and Port”, “Username” and “Password” of the profile. For convenience purposes, the data can be typed in one field like “IP/host:port:username:password” that will be divided automatically.
Then choose the option “Check Proxy”, launching HTTP or Socks server.
If the “Connection test passed” message is shown, then everything was entered and retracted correctly, including timezone, geolocation, WebRTC settings.
If one sees “Connection test failed” notification, then GoLogin has detected an error in the server, because of which the user should proceed to this page.
After the successful setup, save the profile settings and click “Start” for launching the proxy installed.
How to Troubleshoot the Issues
When setting up the HTTP/Socks 5/Socks 4 proxy, the system may discover several connection errors that are leading to:
Fail to reach the entered website.
Timed-out connection duration.
Bad gateway issue.
Note. If any questions arise, the user can always ask for help in our technical support team or official communities.
The most common way to fix the problem can be leaving the fields of “Username” and “Password” blank on purpose. When establishing connection within the profile again, the pop-up window will appear, requiring you to enter the data once again. Usually this move is enough to deal with the issue.
