Working With Bright Data Proxies

As one of the most trusted services among open source proxy management, BrightData, also known as Luminati Networks by the former name, is a popular choice for setup with browsers for multiple logins. For it to work well with the GoLogin browser, certain preparations should be set, allowing it to work effortlessly in the future.

Note. The initial settings are made within the Bright Data server, creating the zones that will be used later. With picking the preferences at the start, it will be much easier to manage the further work.

After the parameters are calibrated within the native platform, the user has an opportunity to select how to perform the second step, with which instrument to work and what results to achieve. One of the methods guarantees the stable and accurate setting of the network, while the other does not take space and operates within the same browser application. Depending on the priorities, each of the tools’ specifics are set differently, which will be shown in detail later.

When entering the dashboard, the next steps require user to:

  1. Open the tab “Proxies”, showing the available zones for working.

  2. Click on the “Add zone” option if none of the settings are suitable.

  3. Enter the information to one’s liking, including:

    1. Type of proxy used;

    2. Name of the future zone;

    3. The connected pricing plan;

    4. Type of dedicated gIP, shared one or exclusive;

    5. Targeting permissions for IP;

    6. Required number of dedicated IPs, up to 200;

    7. Country and/or city necessary;

    8. At least one of the target domains.

  4. After checking the filled points, confirm the zone creation by choosing the “Add zone” option.

Note. The system will automatically calculate the estimated cost, based on information input. It takes into account the data plan connected, region implied, expected workload on the network and other options, so the parameters should be set wisely.

For finishing the process, choose once again the newly created proxy zone and enter the “Edit” section. Then select the username and copy it to the safe place along with the changed password – for Super proxy solution this is the must-have information. It is also recommended to add your own IP address to the field of “Whitelist IPs”, however, if one has a dynamic address or multiple devices, then “any” option will do.

Connecting Bright Data to the browser

In order for the data proxy to operate correctly, GoLogin should have the necessary extension that allows it to accept the preinstalled settings correctly. The setup just needs to:

  1. Enter the “Browser profile settings.

  2. Choose the “Extensions” tab and click on the “Add extensions” option.

  1. Search for the “Bright Data” plugin and confirm the installation.

  1. When finishing the process, the extension will appear in the list of active options for the profile.

Operating through Bright Data Proxy Manager

Note. This option is suitable for users who want the accurate setup of their network and are ready to dedicate some of their storage for it. In return they get the necessary IPs that will fully correlate to the prewritten requirements.

To control the IP releases, one of the most convenient tools is BrightData Proxy manager that works as a separate application. Its role is in:

  • controlling DNS resolve records for IP;

  • fixing the work with the same IP for the longest period possible;

  • proxy targeting by various parameters;

  • setting individual proxy management rules that are absent in native setup.

Note. All of the devices that are planned to be used with GoLogin need an installation of the

Proxy Manager for the work. Even with the same account the proxy data does not synchronize.

When starting to work with the application for the first time, the following steps should be included:

  1. Downloading of the Proxy Manager. The application should be installed within the same device as the browser.

  2. Entering the login data from the BrightData account.

  3. Clicking “Start” for the initial run or “New proxy” option.

  4. Selection of any of the suitable pre-set configurations and save the choice.

Note. For keeping the same IP reserved, choose the option of “Long single session”.

The list of the additional configurations is quite versatile, allowing the owner to maximize the accuracy of proxy work. Among the available settings there are:

  • improved targeting, helping to specify the country, city, ASN or even the carrier of IP releases;

  • IP DNS resolvement records setting from the “Request speed” option;

  • rules setting for the required custom proxification.

One of the notions, port of the acquired proxy, will be necessary for the next step – setting up the profile in the browser. Once the setup in the app is done:

  1. Open the “Extensions” tab to make sure the Bright Data plugin works.

  2. From the “Proxy” section choose “Bright Data” in the connection type.

  3. Pick the convenient “Proxy type” in the corresponding field.

  4. Enter the local proxy IP in the “New address” section.

  5. Paste the proxy port which was obtained earlier in the field of the same notion.

  6. Check the connection and confirm the changes with the “Save” button.

Management through Bright Data Super Proxy

If one does not want to install the side application, then the Super proxy option comes for help. This tool works as an entry node that helps to establish connection with Bright Data servers. However, it has certain serious flaws – for example, less versatility in actions and requirement to control the IP manually through the necessary entries. In order to set up the service:

  1. Open the “Extensions” tab to make sure the Bright Data plugin works.

  2. From the “Proxy” section choose “Bright Data” in the connection type.

  3. Pick the convenient “Proxy type” in the corresponding field.

  4. Insert the “zproxy.lum-superproxy.io” link in the section for “New address”.

  5. Enter the numbers “22225” for the “Port” field.

  6. Retrieve the information about BrightData proxies username and password and paste it along with the necessary prefixes in corresponding places.

  7. Check the connection and confirm the changes with the “Save” button.

Note. With establishing connections with specific locations, narrowing the choices to country or city, the prefixes should be added in the “Username” section. The formula looks like “lum-customer-Name-zone-gen-country-__(-city-___)”, where country is represented in two key letters, and city is written fully with no spaces.

So that to avoid mismatches with browser profile and IP location data, the information should include the session “rand” prefix. Its final look should be like this: “lum-customer-Name-zone-__-session-rand__” with different notions in the end for different profiles.

How to troubleshoot the issues

One of the common problems with Super proxy is IP rotation even with the implemented option of static IP. In order to fix it, the parameter “const” was added to stop the changes and avoid the session drops. For its application, the formula should look like “lum-customer-Name-zone-__-session-__-const”.
